The Little Panda Children’s Performing Group (The Little Pandas) was originally founded in 1984 as a performance platform for the most talented young students of Lorita Leung Dance Academy. In its early years, members of the group performed at many prestigious events, including the Expo 86, the Vancouver International Children's Festival, and toured across Canada, China, and the United States alongside the Lorita Leung Dance Company. In 2010, The Little Pandas was revived and re-established in celebration of LLDA’s 40th Anniversary.

The mission of The Little Panda Children’s Performing Group is to provide enrichment, performance opportunities, and artistic exposure for LLDA’s talented and dedicated junior and intermediate students. Admission to the group is by faculty recommendation and invitation from the Artistic Director. Students are selected based on their talent, potential, commitment, attitude, work ethic, and ability to contribute as strong team players.

The Little Pandas have participated in many distinguished performances, tours, and competitions. They proudly represented LLDA at the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the School of Graded Examination of the Beijing Dance Academy, where they performed before thousands of audience members in Beijing. The group also achieved top honours at the Global Dance Challenge, surpassing competitors from China to win the title of Highest Overall Score in the Chinese Dance Junior Division.

In Fall 2025, The Little Panda Children’s Performing Group expanded with the creation of a junior ensemble, The Little Panda Children’s Performing Group II, offering younger intermediate students the opportunity to further enrich their Chinese dance studies. The senior group, Panda I, now serves as mentors and role models to the younger dancers, fostering leadership and continuity within the program.
